Well, here it is. I've been wanting to do this page for a while. It's an opportunity to let my friends and family listen to some of the things that I've been working on. I'll try to add new things frequently. Feel free to let me know what you think. -Matt
Music Page Playlist
I added this for those of you that have broadband and would prefer to hear all the songs on this page streamed like an album with just one click. Click the link and and the songs will play in the order listed on the page. If asked what program to use to play the file, just pick your favorite media player and enjoy.A Walk in the Park This is an older song that I thought I'd include. It was going to be an instrumental thing similar to the others but when I went to lay the lead tracks, I was impressed with how strong the rhythm was on it's own. Well, here it is.Carvin My Way This is a song that I wrote on the spot and recorded just to hear how a Carvin guitar that I ended up owning for about a week would sound in the studio. Guess I didn't like the guitar. I thought the song came out pretty cool though.Got the Blues I was experimenting with some new equipment that I had at the time and trying to capture the right sound out of the amp. Definitely more of a straight out blues thing than I'd done before.Got to Groove Another try with some studio software I was trying at the time. This was actually my first try. Both Raining Again and this song were one time takes. It has a groove although a little demented.Jurassic Moon This was a song I did a number of years ago. I've had people tell me that it sounds like it's from a soundtrack. I think it sounds like dinosaurs during mating season. A little weird but interesting. How I was able to do the dinosaur sounds is a trade secret ;-). All that I'll say is that it's live tracks with no special effects used. Enjoy.Keyboard Thang This is a test song that I wrote on a keyboard that I recently purchased on Ebay. I did it to see how things would sound in the studio with my new toy. I'm sure it'll be re-recorded sometime soon but for now, I thought it turned out kind of cool. Anyway, give it a listen and keep in mind it's a rough draft. As always, feedback is welcome.Meeting of the Minds Okay, This is a strange one. Kind of a Steve Vai's Mother thing. I'd just bought my first Ibanez and was intrigued with the Floyd Rose bridge. Also my first attempt with totally independent lead tracks. (Three at once to be exact). Strange, a little raw but definitely strange.Midnight Run This is a blues song that I wrote and recorded on 6-16-03. I think it came out very clean, and reflects the possibilities of the software I'm using right now. I hated to dull the quality down slightly for the internet friendly version but it still came out pretty good. Hope everyone likes it.Raining Again 2002 This is a song that I had recorded previously. This new version was an experiment with computer studio software that I was using at the time. It came out pretty clean I think. Kind of a ballad.Running on Empty What can I say. It's pretty much a straight out rock thing.Song for Racheal Well, the name probably says it all. I wrote and recorded this for Racheal while Rayetta was still pregnant with her. I think it's a sweet and happy song, just like her. (Authorization Required)
